About the Job
The RN performs under the direct supervision of the Patient Care Coordinator and is delegated an assignment by the coordinator to achieve quality patient care. The RN shall implement the nursing process in an organized, systematic manner to include assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation in collaboration with the Patient Care Coordinator as evidenced by documentation in Patient Care Record, direct observation by the Patient Care Manager and patient evaluations of care. The RN is responsible to the Patient Care Coordinator for patient care and ultimately accountable to the Patient Care Manager. Perform other job duties as assigned.
Performance Expectations:
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served; also demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed.
- Demonstrates thorough, concise and timely documentation, shift reports and verbal communication. Communicates pertinent patient information to all health care team members.
- Maintains own clinical skills staying current in skills, equipment and certifications including, but not limited to: Electronic Fetal Monitoring, Infant security system, Baby Friendly Initiative, and Family Centered Care.
- Communicate effectively with others in an appropriate and timely manner. Adheres to and promotes the established values of the organization, i.e. customer service, safety and compliance standards.
- Demonstrates proficiency in interpreting fetal monitor strips and carrying out appropriate interventions.
- Demonstrates the ability to circulate, prep patients, and assist physicians in vaginal and cesarean deliveries
- Demonstrates the aptitude for assisting anesthesia as needed throughout the procedure in the operating room, especially during intubation and reversal of anesthesia medications.
- Demonstrate knowledge/skills to care for patients recovering from general, local, or regional anesthesia.
- Demonstrates the ability to safely scrub, gown and glove, maintain the sterile field, and hold retractors as needed
- Maintains nursing skills necessary to care for antenatal, intrapartal, postpartum, and newborn patients.
Qualifications:
Education/Skills:
Graduate of a recognized non-online RN program is required.
Work Experience:
For full-time or part-time positions, one year medical/surgical nursing care preferred, but not required. For PRN positions, three months of Labor and Delivery nursing experience is required.

- Licensed RN able to practice within the State of MS
