About The Position

Multiple Medsurg units available for your candidate to choose from!
Descriptions of the available units are below:
4/5 Medical: 40 bed medical unit that focuses on the care of adults with a variety of medical diagnosis. We see a wide variety of diagnosis including but not limited to: COPD, CHF, Diabetes type 1 and 2, renal failure, infections diseases, heart/circulatory disorders, neurological disorders, stable acute illnesses, addiction, and mental health needs.
We maintain facility standard 5:1 nurse to patient ratio and offer flexible scheduling.
4/5 medical nurses are team-focused, and strive to help each other and their patients be at their best every day. Experience here will give you a great foundation in your nursing career and a team that feels more like family
Carew Medsurg: This acute care unit is made up of 24 beds. Coworkers in this department specialize in the care of stroke patients and are cross trained to work with a combination of other patient populations. Our Carew nursing team members are honored to be an important part of the Joint Commission's Certified Primary Stroke Center team, and are encouraged to become NIH or SCRN certified.
On this unit you can expect a dedicated focus on professional development and personal growth. This unit provides a great foundation for those looking to grow their nursing skillset
6 Medical: The 6 Medical department is located on the 6th floor at the Hospital and is made up of 20 beds. Coworkers in this department are cross trained to work with a combination of Med Surg and other patient populations. Applicants for this department should be comfortable working in a dynamic nursing environment to provide care to patients at all stages of life.
PVH 2 Surgical: The 2-Surgical unit. This is a 35 bed Med Surg unit with lower to moderate levels of acuity. Patient stays are short term with varieties of diagnosis including COPD, pneumonia, nursing home placements, alcohol withdraw, and drug dependency. Surgeries seen on this unit are appendectomy, cholecystectomy, gynecological, and ortho injuries.
Qualified RN's will receive:

Qualifications:
Requires a Diploma in nursing or an ASN/BSN
IN license can be obtained after offer.
CPR certification.
Additional certifications may be required for specified areas.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds, assist with 100 pounds. (Lifting requirements may be heavier for specified departments.) Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
