Position Summary:
This position requires aself-driven, well organized Quality Assurance Technician who can exercisedecision making skills and time management with little supervision. Thisposition reports to the Food Safety Manager. This position supports thecompany’s production facility with the responsibilities that are includedbelow.
What you’ll do:
·Inspect,verify, sample, weigh and test product for defects
·Receivein and release raw materials
·Sendout samples for testing and release finished product
·Discardor reject product not meeting specifications
·Observeand monitor production operations to ensure conformance and adjust if necessary
·Workwith the plant to comply with customer requirements and maintain high industrystandards
·Completeallergen testing and paperwork to ensure compliance
·Monitorcritical control points (CCP’s) multiple times daily
·Supportall required customer audits, safe quality food (SQF) audits, third partyaudits and internal audits
·Maintainpre-operation inspection procedures
·Responsiblefor daily and monthly audits performed inside and outside the building
·Labelproofreading; paying special attention to detail
·Complywith GMP, personal hygiene, HACCP and other quality and employee safetyprograms
·Otherduties as assigned by manager
What we’re looking for:
·Basicmath skills required
·Attentionto detail
·Physicalrequirements include lifting to 60 lbs., bending, standing, climbing andwalking throughout the production area.
·Abilityto transition between production and office environment
·Priorwork experience in food manufacturing with HACCP, GMPs and food safety programsis preferred
·Workingknowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook
·Excellentverbal and written communication skills
·Abilityto effectively communicate and interact when working with cross-functionalteams
·Abilityto take initiative and work independently
