Job DescriptionIn this role, the Quality Engineer will serve as the case manager for product quality issues; encompassing product order entry quality to, material quality, and order transportation quality, as well as managing projects to drive long-term quality improvement within the Graphics division. This role is focused on creating robust solutions to enhance the customer's experience with our products throughout the value stream including acting as the key coordinator for intrasite trial work and analysis.
Role Expectations
● Lead interactive problem solving for complex customer claims to address quality issues with the customer, sales, tech service, and the manufacturing sites
● Lead quality improvement projects which address critical shortfalls in materials and/or processing
● Support claim processing activities when required as a backup to the Sr. Claims Analyst.
● Scope and perform trial work to determine root cause of complex manufacturing related product issues
● Act as connection point between the two Graphics manufacturing sites to support quality improvement initiatives
● Manage quality improvement ECRs coming from our Lowell site to ensure material is evaluated through the coating and finishing process
● Analyze and communicate Lowell quality improvement ECR results to necessary stakeholders
● Maintain and improve reporting tools for critical quality metrics including intra-site trends
● Extract and analyze quality trends to scope manufacturing related project work
● Develop and implement quality countermeasures to address quality related issues
● Participate in daily MDI process and support quality related initiatives
● 10% domestic travel
● Perform other tasks and project work as assigned
Qualifications● Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science or equivalent required
● Minimum 3 years technical experience
● This position will be on site, full time in Fairport Harbor; when not traveling to customers or our other manufacturing sites. This role currently allows for working in a hybrid structure, 1-2 days per week depending on business needs.
