SCHEDULE: Full-Time
LOCATION: Luverne, MN
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for establishing processes and policies to ensure Great Plains Processing is producing the highest quality product. They are responsible for maintaining, documenting, and implementing these processes throughout the company. Responsible for the overall coordination and implementation of environmental health and safety programs to assure compliance with regulatory guidelines and policies.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- Develop company Quality Management policies and procedures. Train all employees in implementing all food safety standards. Ensure all employees follow Quality Management System procedures.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state and local legislation and codes governing environmental health and safety. This also includes quality, control, personnel, product handling, chemical and environment.
- Promote awareness of customer requirements. Ensure all production and testing data is filed and recorded correctly as required by the GPP quality system.
- Lead and assist auditors through GPP processes and certification requirements.
- Coordinate and lead the adequate resolution of customer quality complaints within GPP.
- Document and resolve both internal and external quality errors in the GPP quality database. Ensures personnel training and corrective action follow-up is completed.
- Monitor and document all testing data as required by any GPP contractual agreements.
- Make sure all invoices related to quality assurance are properly approved and submitted to accounts payable in a timely fashion.
- Work with all outside third party labs in implementing company procedures for sample submission and data retrieval, including internal preliminary samples as well as finished product samples.
- Directs industrial hygiene, occupational and general safety programs to ensure a safe environment and comply with OSHA and HACCP safety standards.
- Develops and implements accident investigation, data analysis, and recurrence prevention programs and procedures. Ensures GPP accident/injury form is documented correctly.
- Continually strives for plant improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Responds and aids in emergency situations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE DESIRED:
- 4 year degree in related field or comparable experience
