We are seeking four Level 1 Mechanical Inspectors to join our team in Hawthorne, CA, working full-time during first and second shifts. The ideal candidate will have experience in quality inspection, particularly in the aerospace industry, with the ability to independently validate established criteria and conduct dimensional inspections without additional guidance.
What to Expect:
- You will be part of a global inspection team assuring quality of components and assemblies that this global aerospace leader is sourcing from one or more suppliers in this area. Once on the team, you will be deployed through SQA's operations center based on client need and each supplier's production schedule.
- This is a 1-3 Month contract position in which you will be supporting on a full-time basis at first or second shift hours.
What You'll Do:
- You will be conducting inspections the include but are not limited to:
- Outer diameter visual (10x) for damage on tubes and hardware (B nuts, sleeves, etc).
- Measurements of minor features using mostly calipers and micrometers, we'll train them to use a tool we have called Gelsight to measure damage depth
- Basic drawing reading (not anything dimensional, just hexes and notes)
- Raw material verification with XRF gun, we will provide training on use and safety
- Visual inspection of threads probably won't need to use any thread plug gages.
- Possibly Inner diameter visual using borescope, making pass/fail calls using visual comparison to spec with pass/fail images.
- Possibly wipe test (with black light) for class 2 clean verification
- Possibly putty measurements on optical comparator
What You'll Need:
- Experience inspecting mechanical parts - we offer client-specific training
- Experience with product verification to drawing requirements
- Strong communication and technology skills
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Must be a US Citizen, due to ITAR requirements
