Northstar Metal is seeking to add a motivated and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Inspector to our team. Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create and run ICS programs for Virtek flat blank scanner
- Familiar with powder paint inspections that include: gloss readings, impact testing, cross-hatch test, paint thickness checker, use of spectrophotometer
- Perform receiving inspection on product from outside services
- Perform processing of non-conforming material – both identification of product – containment, as well as documenting inside of Global Shop (ERP)
- Comfortably work and transact in ERP systems, such as Global Shop
- Assist in performing ISO internal audits, particular product and process audit if needed
- Perform inspections on laser, turret, grinding, spot-welding, welding, hardware, press brake and assemblies:
- Set-up
- In-process
- Incoming
- Final
- 5 years of experience working in precision metal fabrication
- 2 years of experience working in quality assurance
- Possess strong oral and written communication skills
- Possess strong knowledge of blueprint reading and interpretation, and use of basic measuring tools such as: pin gages, calipers, mics, height gage, push-out tester, torque wrench, thread gages, surface finish tester
- Possess knowledge of Precision Sheet Metal
- Possess basic computer literacy skills in programs such as Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
- Certified mechanical inspector through AQC is a plus
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US
