Position Overview:
Under general supervision, provides on the line inspection within the quality assurance department and provides hands on participation in daily operations in accordance with company specifications. Responsibilities:
- Responsible for conducting inspections and tests of simple weighing and measuring devices. Performs mathematical calculations and applies correct factors when necessary.
- Responsible for documenting test results and line process issues which affect product quality.
- Identify and or prevent quality problems in Assembly at their earliest possible stages of production minimizing the quantity of products leaving our facility that do not meet Aware Products quality standards.
- Responsible for the quality of all phases of goods produced either initial, reworks or returned goods.
- Read all product Fill and Assembly instructions carefully and participate with production staff assisting in the proper assembly of finished goods ensuring that they meet designated requirements.
- Investigate quality issues to determine root cause(s) and communicate issues to Quality Management as well as providing immediate feedback to production management and personnel.
- Pull all Microbiological and all quality product retains, and customer samples as required.
- Approve shipper labels as required.
- Check all samples for color, odor and appearance (aeration, clarity, Sediment, foreign material contamination, floating material).
- Understand, exercise and enforce basic cGMP and safety requirements and procedures.
- Conduct any other tasks as assigned by management including serving as a floater to assist other areas of the assembly process. When serving as a floater the Quality Inspector will report to the Supervisor of the department, they are working in.
Skills and Qualifications:
- High school Diploma or GED;
- Minimum two years’ experience in a fast-paced cGMP manufacturing environment
- Must be able to communicate to mechanic and line lead any mechanical problem that occurs, and any unsafe conditions, which exist on the line.
- Basic Math skills including but not limited to: addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and percentages required.
- Must have proven ability to read, write and communicate in English.
- Ability to work in a change oriented, fast-paced environment.
- Strong, Consistent, reliable, attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Flexibility to work OT when necessary – including weekends.
