Within the Vehicle Motion Division we design and develop state-of-the art safety and motion solutions for passenger cars, light trucks, and up to medium heavy truck. Vehicle Motion provides solutions for mobility through steering, braking, occupant safety, and vehicle dynamic sensors. Vehicle Motion is also a leader in the software and services that will support the future of Software Defined Vehicles.
Job DescriptionAs a Product Quality Engineer and Customer Champion, you will act as the primary representative of Bosch in addressing customer quality topics, ensuring that our products meet and exceed expectations while supporting the Bosch Chassis Systems Control Division.
Your Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong relationships within Bosch and with North American customers to identify and manage quality risks effectively. Your goal will be to proactively enhance Bosch product quality performance.
- Support quality initiatives throughout the entire product lifecycle, from early development and application phases to product launch and series production.
- Monitor product quality data, identifying trends and addressing root causes of negative warranty issues and external defect costs.
- Work primarily from the Bosch Plymouth location, with occasional travel (10-15%) to Bosch manufacturing sites and customer facilities.
- Lead and support problem-solving activities for internal and customer complaints to ensure prompt and effective resolution.
- Prepare and present internal and external quality metrics (Q-metrics) to management for decision-making and performance evaluation.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree.
- 1-3 years of experience in an automotive product role (design, manufacturing, etc.) and customer quality experience supporting customers both internal and external
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Bachelor of Science Mechanical Engineering
- Capable of effectively communicating to various areas of the organization (e.g. Supplier Quality, supply chain, product technical support, engineering, plant, field service)
- Experience with common problem solving tools (8D, Six Sigma, FMEA, DRBFM, 5Why, Ishikawa)
- Prior Bosch experience
