Our client provides custom-manufactured metal parts and assemblies with unmatched quality and customer service that includes hot forming/superplastic forming, hot brake forming of titanium, assemblies/welded assemblies, drop hammer, and tool design/build.
Immediate opening for a Quality Engineer in St. Louis, MO who possesses:
- Bachelor in Engineering degree
- 3 years of experience in a quality position role
- Knowledge of managing a certified ISO 9001 environment, or similar QMS
- Knowledge of G, D, & T including coordinate measuring machines as well as 3D measurement and imaging machines
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, manufacturing prints, and specification requirements
- *preferred* Experience as a quality/process auditor
- *preferred* experience with metrology and calibration systems
- *preferred* experience with CNC Machines and tube bending
- *preferred* Project Management experience
- *preferred* experience using Acrobat and Minitab
- *preferred* Six Sigma certification

Key Responsibilities Include:
- Maintains a leadership role as a driver of change for continuous improvement of the processes through effective communication and collaboration at all levels in the organization.
- Leads and participates in the APQP process, ensuring all aspects of a new product launch or part modification are accurate and timely.
- Develop control plans, FMEAs, PFMEAs and PPAPs, including submitting to customers promptly.
- Administers the work instruction document control and training programs.
- Assists with the administration of the QMS document control program
- Assists with the administration of the quality audit and training programs
- Oversees the plant calibration system.
- Utilizes Six Sigma methods to drive continuous process improvement.
- Leads cross-functional teams to collaborate and uses the 8D problem-solving process to determine the root cause of issues including working with others to develop corrective and preventative actions that are sustainable.
- Program and utilize coordinate measuring, 3D measurement and imaging, as well as tensile tester machines to measure and test materials as needed to support the business.
- Perform visual and cosmetic inspection of the product to determine suitability for release.
- Perform 1st article inspection and process set-up validation.
- Supervise and perform process and product audits.
- Administer the incoming raw material inspection program and perform inspections.
- Resolves customer complaints promptly with a focus on acting quickly to respond to customer's needs.
- Creates and maintains Internal Corrective Action Reports, Supplier Corrective Action Reports, Discrepant Material Dispositions, and other documentation to ensure accurate recording and reporting of non-conformances.
- Builds and grows customer relationships by providing high levels of service and commitment through excellent service, communication, and quick responses that address questions or concerns.
