About the Job
Purpose:
Under the supervision of the Clinical Director, the Qualified Mental Health Specialist (QMHS) performs case management to support the treatment plan process for clients referred for services. The role focuses on providing Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR), Community Psychiatric Services and Treatment (CPST), and Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS) to ensure positive treatment outcomes for our client population.
Contractor Responsibilities:
Receive assignments of individuals needing mental health services, monitor client behavior in relation to treatment goals, and respond to mental health emergencies according to crisis intervention protocols.
Provide behavioral, case management, and skill-building interventions as outlined in clients' individual service plans, within the scope of the position (non-therapeutic/counseling services).
Maintain detailed documentation of client interactions, consult with relevant professionals, and update treatment plans as needed. Adhere to federal, state, and agency Fraud, Waste, and Abuse policies.
Attend monthly team meetings, trainings, and All Staff Meetings. Participate in coaching sessions with the Clinical Director as required.
Submit timely documentation including necessary information for authorizations, reauthorizations, and responses to administrative requests within designated timeframes.
Familiarize oneself with client medical records, including assessments and treatment recommendations, and provide recommendations/testimony in court regarding clients' behavioral and mental health status.
Establish and maintain effective relationships with clients, families, service providers, colleagues, and the community.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred from an accredited college or university.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in mental health or social services.
Successful completion of New Hire Orientation and clearance of required background checks and registries.
Essential Knowledge and Abilities:
Strong knowledge of case management principles, human services, and community health resources.
Familiarity with identifying clients with alcohol or drug problems and proficiency in computerized program software.
Ability to establish rapport and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders.
Proficiency in crisis response, ethical practices, and legal guidelines.
