Job Summary:
Essential Functions:
+ Interprets engineering drawings, diagrams and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
+ Compares product with parts list and/or production drawings to ensure completion of assembly.
+ Verifies specified dimensions of product or material.
+ Rejects defective parts and marks type of defect on part, container of parts, or inspection tag.
+ Conduct and document process and system audits using written procedures as audit standards.
+ Accurately document the results of the inspections and testing.
+ Maintain all controlled document files and test records in a timely and accurate manner.
+ Monitor critical equipment and instrumentation to ensure proper operation and calibration.
+ Participate in the construction and/or revision of SOPs for the inspection function.
+ Assist in the writing and updating inspection procedures, protocol and checklists.
+ Evaluate problems and make initial recommendations for possible corrective action to supervisor.

Minimum Job Qualifications:
+ High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
+ 4 + years of related certification and inspection experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Professional Accreditation: ASQ CQI and/or CQT preferred
+ General knowledge of quality terms, definitions, and concepts
+ Understanding of types of measurement, measurement terminology and the different types of measurement scales.
+ Understand the difference between accuracy and precision and ability to select appropriate measuring tools and techniques.
+ Ability to identify/recognize inspection errors and initiate resolution.
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints and know definitions of critical, major and minor. characteristics.
+ General knowledge of ASME Y14.5M, working knowledge of GD&T, and must understand x, y, z coordinate system.
+ Ability to identify and report nonconforming material.
+ Strong knowledge of basic mathematical operations and perform measurement conversions; add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; solve for x; compute rate, ratio, and percent and to read and interpret metal rule.
+ Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
+ Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
+ Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written.
+ Ability to demonstrate initiative and assertiveness, the ability to plan and manage work in an efficient manner, and the ability to work well under stress and time pressures.
