Our rapidly growing manufacturing company seeks an experienced, dynamic Purchasing Manager. This exciting role offers a hybrid remote schedule, allowing for flexibility and work-life balance. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management and oversight of our entire purchasing department, ensuring that all procurement activities align with our company's strategic objectives. This role is integral to our operations, collaborating closely with our production and sales teams to ensure seamless supply chain management.
Responsibilities:
As the Permanent Purchasing Manager, your duties will include but are not limited to:
1. Managing and overseeing all purchasing activities including raw materials buying and vendor management.
2. Developing, implementing, and maintaining a robust supplier management strategy to ensure the best quality and cost efficiency.
3. Conducting accurate forecasting to predict future supply needs and prevent any potential shortages or excess.
4. Collaborating closely with production and sales teams to align supply with demand.
5. Ensuring compliance with food production standards and regulations, particularly with SQF (Safe Quality Food).
6. Managing contracts with suppliers, including negotiation, execution, and review.
7. Implementing procurement practices that align with our company's strategic objectives.
8. Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, acting as the primary point of contact for any issues or queries.
9. Continuously improving our purchasing processes and systems to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
10. Managing the consumer packaging procurement process.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you must possess the following:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a purchasing management role, preferably within the food & beverage industry.
2. Proven experience in raw materials buying, vendor management, supplier management, and forecasting.
3. Extensive knowledge of food production, with a particular focus on SQF.
4. Strong skills in contract management and procurement.
5. Experience in consumer packaging procurement.
6. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
8. Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
9. Proficiency in using various software systems for inventory management and forecasting.
10. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
11. A bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
