Cornell Pump Company is seeking a full-time Pump Technician/Mechanic to work in our Testing Department in the Clackamas OR location. The hourly pay range for this position is $24.00-$28.00 (DOE)

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: The successful candidate will set up testing loops and perform required pump testing per customer specifications. Interpret testing results before handoff to Engineering and/or Sales. Assists with research and development of new Cornell products or modifications to existing products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate and participate in installing pumps into the system by connecting valves, pumps, hydraulic, mechanical, or electrical controls, cabling, tubing, power source, and indicating instruments.
- Set up the testing loop and perform required testing per the customer specifications.
- Design and fabricate new test fixtures and loops.
- Executes performance & R&D tests that meet applicable codes and standards.
- Examines parts for conformance with dimensional specifications with Lab tools (calipers, hydraulic templates) or by coordinating with the shop Inspector when necessary.
- Activate and monitor controls to apply electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or mechanical power and subject test items to successive steps in the test cycle.
- Communicate test results promptly for review.
- Assists with maintenance of test equipment, instrumentation, and test facility as needed.
- Pump assembly, tear down, and rework.
- Maintain test equipment and the facility.
- Follow all safety precautions and practices safe working habits. Reports all unsafe conditions and injuries to the supervisor immediately.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:
- 2 + years of experience with heavy equipment and/or rotating machinery
- Strong hands-on mechanical aptitude
Preferred:
- Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or related field.
Skills:
- Mechanical ability, teamwork, and R&D skills.
- Experience in using tools like calipers, hydraulic templates, and other lab equipment.
- Knowledge of safety practices and lifting device operation.
- Able to operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other lifting devices.
