We have an immediate opening for a 1st Shift Pump Technician/Mechanic. Monday - Friday. Overtime is available.
The hourly pay range is from $24.00 -$28.00 (DOE)

Cornell Pump Company is seeking a full-time Pump Technician/Mechanic to work in our Testing Department in the Clackamas OR location. The successful candidate will set up testing loops and perform required pump testing per customer specifications. Interpret testing results before handoff to Engineering and/or Sales. Assists with research and development of new Cornell products or modifications to existing products.

Cornell Pump Company is seeking a full-time Pump Technician/Mechanic to work in our Testing Department in the Clackamas OR location. The successful candidate will set up testing loops and perform required pump testing per customer specifications. Interpret testing results before handoff to Engineering and/or Sales. Assists with research and development of new Cornell products or modifications to existing products.
What we're looking for:
- Mechanical ability
- Collaborate well with other departments specifically Engineering
- Research and Development skills
- Required: Two years related experience with heavy equipment and/or rotating machinery. Preferred: associate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or related.
Preference is given to strong demonstrated hands-on mechanical aptitude.
What you'll do:
- Executes performance & R&D tests that meet applicable codes and standards.
- Works with Engineering to plan and coordinate R&D testing programs.
- Designs and fabricates new test fixtures and loops.
- Performs engineering calculations related to pump testing.
- Examines parts for conformance with dimensional specifications with Lab tools (calipers, hydraulic templates) or by coordinating with the shop Inspector when necessary.
- Coordinates and participates in installing pumps into the system. Connecting valves, pumps, hydraulic, mechanical, or electrical controls, cabling, tubing, power source, and indicating instruments.
- Activates/monitors controls to apply electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or mechanical power and subject test items to successive steps in the test cycle.
- Communicate test results to the Supervisor, Engineering, or Sales for review.
- Assists with maintenance of test equipment, instrumentation, and test facility as needed.
- Supports other test personnel or departments as needed to meet daily goals.
- Set up the testing site and perform required testing per the customer specifications.
- Light pump assembly
- Performs pump rework.
- Assists in the process of RGA evaluation.
- Keeps machines and work area clean and free of debris.
- Able to operate forklifts and other lifting devices.
- Follow all safety precautions and practices safe working habits. Reports all unsafe conditions and injuries to the supervisor immediately.
