About the Job
Wilkes University invites applications for the position of Public Safety Officer Residence Hall Security.
Reporting to a shift supervisor, the Public Safety Officer Residence Hall Security position provides late night and early morning security for University residence halls. Working at a static post, the Public Safety Officer will ensure that those entering the building are residents or authorized to enter and will provide emergency lock out services and interior/exterior building checks.
When classes are not in session, the Public Safety Officer provides customer services to University community members; enforces all parking regulations within University parking lots; provides escorts (walking or vehicle) within a reasonable distance of campus.
The ideal candidate will be and/or have:
Act 235 certified in the State of Pennsylvania,
Possess a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent,
A valid P.A. Driver's License,
Eligible for C.P.R /A.E.D. Certification within 6 months of hire,
One to three years of creditable experience in a similar position or work environment,
Basic computer skills,
A professional level of oral and written communication skills, and:
Must be able to pass a stringent background check.
