Atrium is partnering with a commercial real estate and property management company. They specialize in commercial properties such as medical offices, retail, hotels, and garage space. Currently, they are looking to add a Property Accountant to their team.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$70k – $90k + Bonus
Position Overview:
The Property Accountant will support the monthly accounting responsibilities for a portfolio of commercial properties. The Property Accountant will partner with the Property Managers, Accounting Managers, and Corporate Accounting teams.
Responsibilities of the Property Accountant:
- Preparing and processing monthly journal entries.
- Producing monthly financials according to the established schedule and analyzing results.
- Preparing monthly bank statements.
- Maintaining accrual general ledgers.
- Reviewing income, expense, deferred leasing, and capital purchases for accurate coding and payment.
- Resolving issues with the Property Manager or other departments as necessary.
- Supporting the budget and forecasting process.
- Performing special projects as needed and providing support to the accounting and property management teams.
Qualifications for the Property Accountant:
- 2+ years of experience in accounting.
- Experience with commercial property accounting is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft applications.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related study is required.
