We are seeking a dynamic and highly-motivated Property Accountant to join our growing team .This is an exciting opportunity to apply your accounting skills and knowledge in a challenging and rewarding role, where you will be responsible for managing all financial aspects of our property portfolio. You will have the chance to work closely with senior management, contributing to strategic financial decisions and forecasts. Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Property Accountant, your key duties will include:
1. Managing all aspects of the month-end close process, ensuring all financial statements are accurate and completed in a timely manner.
2. Preparing and posting journal entries, verifying their accuracy, and reconciling accounts as needed.
3. Assisting with upper-level aspects of accounts payable (AP), including vendor management and invoice processing.
4. Developing and maintaining financial forecasts for properties, analyzing trends and variances, and providing recommendations to senior management.
5. Collaborating with other departments to streamline processes, improve financial reporting, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
6. Conducting regular audits of property financials, identifying discrepancies or issues and implementing corrective measures.
7. Providing financial analysis and reports as required, assisting in strategic decision-making processes.
8. Staying updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in property accounting.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA or other relevant certification is highly desirable.
2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong emphasis on property accounting.
3. Senior Living experience is a huge plus, as is experience in the Accounting + Finance industry.
4. Proficiency in Yardi
5. Strong forecasting skills, with the ability to analyze financial data and draw accurate conclusions.
6. Excellent attention to detail, with strong organizational and multitasking skills.
7. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely.
8. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
9. A proactive approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
