About the Job
Erdman Anthony is seeking qualified full time project manager professional for South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) construction projects. The projects are related to Everglades Restoration efforts and are typically located in the central part of the state south of Lake Okeechobee. Projects generally include heavy civil improvements including levees, culverts, and roadways and may include vertical construction including buildings and bridges.
Responsibilities:
Project management:
- Assist with coordination of project deliverables and technical review processes;
- Maintain project files in accordance with established document control system;
- Provide Design assistance and coordination with Consultant Design teams;
- Provide Construction Management services;
- Organize and coordinate project meetings;
- Assist with preparation of meeting presentations and handouts;
- Manage project status and reporting; and
- Assist with other project-related technical activities as requested by the District appointed PMs or Technical Services Manager.
Construction management:
- Review drawings and specifications, addenda, change orders, RFIs, submittals, etc. to thoroughly understand the project requirements.
- Daily field observation and documentation including preparing Owner's Daily Report with photographs.
- Assist in confirming construction is in conformance with the plans and specifications and report any deficiencies, or non-compliance issues
- Verify information in Contractor Daily Reports is correct and report any discrepancies.
- Conduct Progress Meetings and Quality Management Meetings.
- Assist in reviewing As-Built documentation
- Monitor financial profitability of assigned projects
- Maintain and develop client relations; be accountable to client
- Coordinate and manage subconsultants
- Perform effective project management (monitor scope, schedule, budget, proposals, invoicing)
- Work on projects that typically involve permitting, stormwater management, erosion and sedimentation control, drainage, hydrology, and other land development tasks
- Be proactive in clarifying direction on project design issues; proceed with a clear understanding of the scope, timing, schedule, and budget
Requirements:
- Candidates shall possess a BS or MS degree in Civil Engineering.
- 10+ years project management experience
- South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) or United States Corp of Engineers (USACE) construction inspection experience preferred
- Site Civil experience preferred.
- Valid Florida driver's license
- Florida PE a plus
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple projects
- Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to mentor staff
- Familiar/experience with (federal) Unified Facilities Design Criteria a plus
