Position: Project ManagerLocation: Lansing, MI (Hybrid)Duration: 12 Months (Extendable)In Person InterviewJob Description- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedureswithin a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan andaccomplish goals. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Maywork under supervision of Senior Project or Program Manager, assisting withlarger, more complex initiatives. This PMO area supports the Department of Labor& Economic Opportunity, including Michigan State Housing Development Corporationand Unemployment Insurance Agency, in addition to the Attorney General’s office.Project and program work may be assigned in any of these areas according to workdemands.· Designs, plans, and coordinates work teams. Follows standard projectmanagement industry practices such as the PMI's framework. Understands businessand technical objectives of a project and works closely with project sponsor.Creates project charter and work plan and tracks budget and schedule progressvia appropriate metrics. Establishes project organization and methodologies anddefines roles and responsibilities. Documents risks and develops mitigationplans. Manages scope. Creates and implements a communication plan. Builds aneffective team, assigns tasks to team members, and evaluates outcomes.Negotiates resources. Communicates to stakeholders and project sponsor.Identifies, tracks, and ensures resolution of issues and removal of barriers.Provides technical support to project team members. Handles complex applicationfeatures and technical designs. Designs and implements the components requiredfor complex application features. Generally, manages a group of applicationssystem analysts. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.Professional certification is highly desirable.· May require specific PC, workstation, operating system, application, orplatform skills. Provides overall direction to the formulation, development,implementation, and delivery of a project. Exercises management responsibilityover the achievement of performance, revenue, and profit objectives of a projectand its contracts. Ensures that the project plan maintains tasks, schedules,estimates, and status, and disseminates information to team members andcustomers. Creates a structure and organization for the management of a complexenvironment with emphasis on quality, productivity, and consistency. Directscorrective actions in any area where performance falls below objectives.Arranges for the assignment of responsibility to other supporting facilities,business areas, and support functions, and monitors their performance.Self-directed and independent. Responsible for the coordination and completionof projects. Oversees all aspects of projects. Sets deadlines, assignsresponsibilities, and monitors and summarizes progress of project. Preparesreports for upper management regarding status of project.Top skills/requirements: schedule management, vendor management, Agile/Scrumpreferred
