SUMMARY:
As our Project Engineer you will drive innovative engineering projects that directly support the U.S. military, working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment to deliver customized rugged computing solutions. As a results-driven leader with a strong engineering background, you will take ownership of projects from concept to completion, contributing to the team’s success and the company’s growth potential.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, covering complete design cycles including specification review, CAD modeling, prototyping, fabrication, qualification, and product release.
- Handle projects on tight timelines, typically under three months per project.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary teams to design and develop custom solutions, ensuring all aspects of the project are on track.
- Delegate tasks and manage processes and outputs across various departments for successful manufacturing release.
- Coordinate cross-departmental activities with teams in Sales, Marketing, Materials, Procurement, and Manufacturing to ensure project success.
- Conduct weekly project meetings, technical design reviews, and document the process with detailed meeting agendas, minutes, tasks, and action items.
- Interface with customers throughout the project lifecycle, leading customer-facing design reviews when needed.
- Plan and maintain detailed project schedules to track progress and provide reports to management.
- Control project budgets, mitigate risks, and make executive decisions to drive projects forward.
- Effectively report and escalate issues to the management team as necessary.
- Manage relationships with external consultants and vendors such as PCB layout designers, FPGA designers, machine shops, and LCD bonding fabricators.
- Support the Sales department by reviewing specifications, estimating development costs, and determining schedules for sales opportunities.
- Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, and Manufacturing teams to troubleshoot technical issues and allocate technical personnel as needed.
- Analyze and implement department-wide initiatives to streamline workflows, improve output quality, and enhance project delivery.
- Facilitate departmental responses to internal and external information requests, including our Service Requests (ZSR).
- Track and compile monthly key performance indicators (KPIs) for the engineering department.
- Compile and publish Engineering’s Master Schedule weekly.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical)
- 3+ years of experience in Project Management, preferably in an engineering environment.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project.
