About the Job
As a Project Engineer, you will plan, direct, and coordinate construction activities for civil industrial projects such as wastewater pump stations, water reclamation facilities, and large-scale utility projects or infrastructure projects such as highways, bridges, and tunnels. You will ensure project goals are met within the prescribed time frame and budget, either personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Key Responsibilities: Analyze and understand plans and specifications.
Inspect construction sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to engineering plans, specifications, and safety standards.
Supervise and coordinate the submittal process and working drawings requirements.
Prepare and modify reports, specifications, plans, environmental impact studies, and designs as necessary.
Maintain and update project schedules with the Project Superintendent.
Understand and manage cost and productivity data.
Analyze and monitor job costs and production budgets.
Prepare and submit monthly cost, income, and cash flow projections.
Execute and approve subcontractor requisitions and vendor invoices.
Coordinate and assist in the settlement of change orders and claims.
Ensure subcontractor insurance certificate compliance.
Promote and participate in planning with the job team.
Consistently apply and enforce safety policies.
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred or equivalent technical training and related experience.
5+ years of related field experience.
Skills and Abilities: Proficient with spreadsheet and word processing programs, CPM scheduling programs (e.g., Primavera Project Planner), and Microsoft Office.
Experience using cost and productivity data.
Clear and professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
Effective presentation skills and ability to respond to questions from managers, clients, and the public.
Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle abstract and concrete variables.
Ability to interpret technical instructions in various formats.
