Etzel Engineer and Build, located just north of Pittsburgh, PA, is seeking a motivated individual with up to 3 years of experience as a Construction Project Engineer/Assistant Project Manager. We specialize in Design/Build Construction for Commercial, Healthcare, and Mission Critical facilities. This full-time, hourly position offers an immediate start, competitive compensation, a comprehensive health and benefits package, and excellent growth potential. This is a unique opportunity for an aspiring engineer to begin transitioning into Project Management duties with a clear pathway to becoming a Project Manager in 2-5 years.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Develop and maintain submittal and delivery logs.
Identify, review for compliance, mark-up, log, and submit shop drawings, catalog cuts, samples, and product data to the Owner/Architect for approval.
Assist the Project Manager/Superintendent in developing construction schedules.
Prepare Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and Change Orders for vendors or trade contractors.
Collect necessary documentation for billing preparation to the Owner.
File for required permits and follow through until issued.
Prepare weekly and monthly reports on job progress.
Prepare Operation and Maintenance Manuals upon project completion.
Assist the Project Manager/Superintendent in preparing Punch Lists and coordinate responsibility until all work is satisfactorily completed.
Attend Job Progress Meetings with Owners, trade contractors, and other field representatives as directed, and record meeting minutes.
Handle special assignments and perform additional duties as directed by the Project Manager/Superintendent.

The ideal candidate should possess:

Up to 3 years of experience in commercial construction.
A four-year college degree or an associate degree in a construction-related field is a plus.
Ability to present a credible, confident, and positive image of oneself and the company during oral presentations to clients, subcontractors, and others.
Experience in reading and interpreting plans and specifications.
Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with designers, subcontractors, and other personnel.
Proficiency in various computer programs, including but not limited to Excel, Word, Microsoft Project, Adobe Acrobat, AutoCAD, and Sage 100.
