POSITION TITLE: Local Bar Services Project Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Marketing & Outreach/Communications
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The State Bar of Texas is seeking a project coordinator to provide outreach to local bar associations as part of the Communications team. This position plays a vital role in the State Bar’s efforts to support the activities of local bar associations through developing support materials and presentations, promoting presidential initiatives, and traveling with the State Bar president to local bars for speaking engagements. This position also coordinates the annual Local Bar Leaders Conference, Law Day contest, and Stars of Texas Bars Awards. This opportunity supports a hybrid work environment.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
- Develop and implement projects designed to continue and improve the relationship between the State Bar and local bar associations across the state.
- Coordinate and assist with State Bar leadership involvement with local bars.
- Communicate and provide local bar associations with information and available resources such as speaker coordination, membership emails, and mailing lists.
- Coordinate the Local Bar Leaders Conference, including the program, speakers, accommodations, printing, travel, set-up, and invoice processing.
- Create the Law Day brochure and webpage and encourage local bars to hold local contests.
- Create Stars of Texas Bars brochure and webpage and encourage local bars to submit entries. Post entries on Jot Form and work with the Local Bar Services Committee in judging the entries. Notify winners, order awards, prepare Powerpoint, and attend the awards presentation luncheon.
- Serve as staff liaison to the Local Bar Services Committee, including coordinating committee meetings, assembling materials, and writing talking points.
- Generate, compose, edit, and prepare letters, newsletters, brochures, reports, correspondence, and other documents for promotion and marketing plans.
- Perform other responsibilities as required.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires at least 2 years of related work experience. A bachelor’s degree is preferred. The successful candidate will have excellent creative writing and editing skills, the ability to give effective presentations before small and large groups, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word/Excel), iMis, Salesforce, and PowerPoint. The position will appeal to candidates who excel under deadlines and thrive when managing multiple projects. Some travel and evening and weekend work is required.
