Overview of Role:
Our client is looking for candidates with experience in working on high-profile and unique architectural projects in the areas of Sports Architecture, Entertainment, and Public Assembly.
Overview of the Company:
Our client has a rich heritage of sports, entertainment planning, and design dating back to 1909. They have designed and engineered numerous sports architecture icons including Yankee Stadium, Fenway Park, Municipal Stadium, and Ohio Stadium, among others. Today, their Sports practice focuses on the design of athletic facilities and entertainment venues.
As their practice grows, they are currently looking for enthusiastic and proactive Project Architects to join one of their existing neighborhoods. This key role will engage all areas of their practice including planning, programming, design & visualization, and lead the project’s technical development and documentation of their projects.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Documentation and delivery of architectural documentation for projects from conception through construction.
- Research code requirements and ensure the feasibility of design solutions.
- Manage project budget, work plan, consultants, and schedule.
- Communicate with the Project Manager and other project architects regarding key deliverable dates.
- Create design solutions to meet client specifications.
- Create Project Manual and Specifications.
- Maintain a collaborative professional working relationship with the Project Team.
- Act as an intermediary between the client and the architectural team.
- Promote communication through team meetings, and minutes, and update memos to the project team, including consultants.
- Ensure project documentation complies with company standards.
- Coordinate team efforts to complete a project promptly and successfully, while ensuring that the team is working effectively and keeping to the schedule and budget.
- Construction administration including processing of submittals, RFI’s, and other project documentation during construction.
- Provide office leadership, including professional development coaching and mentoring staff.
- Review work consistently and communicate needs and concerns to project staff.
- Define staff requirements for projects as needed or directed.
- All other duties and responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture.
- Must have 6+ years of project architect experience within one or more of the following fields: Sports (stadiums, arenas, ballparks, practice facilities, master planning, and collegiate facilities).
- Must have a strong understanding and knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, building construction, building systems, and site requirements.
- Registered Architect w/ active license, NCARB certified is a plus.
- Ability to provide efficient and elegant 2D and 3D design solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, able to build solid working relationships with clients.
- Strong relationship-building and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Guide design, construction methodology, material application, and manufacturer-supplier appropriateness.
- Understanding of architectural building systems.
- Proficient in the current version of Revit – required.
- Proficient in AutoCAD – required.
- Proficient in Bluebeam - required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Project – preferred.
- Proficient in Photoshop – preferred.
- Proficient in LEED – preferred.
