About the Job
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Financial Management: Oversee and manage the financial aspects of projects (including WIP accruals).
- Accounting and Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely recording of all project-related financial transactions in accordance with GAAP. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports related to project performance.
- Cash Flow Management: Lead Accounts Payable with monthly supplier portal invoicing and payments.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Work closely with project managers to prepare project budgets and forecasts and analyze variances to assist in decision-making.
- Compliance and Auditing: Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations. Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations related to project finances.
- Contract Review and Management: Assist in the financial evaluation of contracts and agreements with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Financial Analysis: Perform cost-benefit analysis on projects, and provide recommendations to improve profitability and efficiency.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for project financial matters among project managers, clients, and subcontractors.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong background in Excel. Lookup function experience is required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a project accounting role, preferably within the construction, roofing, or renovations industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Microsoft Dynamics or equivalent) and MS Office (especially Excel).
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial principles relevant to project management.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization and external stakeholders.

The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
