General Position Summary:
Handle the project accounting tasks for specified list of project managers or projects, including job set up, subcontract management, job billing, compliance, and other accounting functions.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Issue billings based on contract and costs to date or schedule of values.
2. Review/interpret job cost information to incorporate all applicable costs.
3. Submit invoices for approval of charges before issuance to the customer.
4. Create job cost substantiations.
5. Process and maintain incoming/outgoing contract and subcontract documents, billing requests and correspondence.
6. Review contracts and proposals to identify payment terms, billing rates, and allowable charges.
7. Review and process subcontract documents including compliance for individual subcontracts.
8. Maintenance of project phase codes and billing templates.
9. Process and assemble contractually required administrative documents including certified payrolls, union affidavits, work recovery, etc.
10. Process requests for insurance certificates.
11. Make friendly collection inquiries, update notes in AR, reconcile billing discrepancies, and escalate issues to management.
12. Manage tier releases required to obtain timely customer payment.
13. Process and calculate billing rates for final review consistent with company policy and procedure.
14. Prepare reports and analysis in preparation of external billing audits.
15. Communicate effectively with General Contractors, Subcontractors, Project Managers and other UMC staff to ensure projects are maintained.
16. Regular attendance and promptness are considered part of each employee's essential job functions.
Secondary Job Functions:
1. Work as a team with other Project Accountants to ensure the department is providing necessary customer service.
2. Provide back-up support for other Project Accountants.
3. Assist in team projects.
4. Routine filing/tracking of customer data.

Education Requirements Needed to Perform the Essential Duties of the Job:
• 3 years relevant billing, accounting and/or construction experience.
