Job Description
The Program Director, Associate of Applied Science in Radiology, is a full-time position responsible for managing the Associate Degree of Applied Science in Radiology Program in the Department of Health Sciences. The Program Director reports to the Associate Dean of Health Sciences and is responsible for the management of an environment and resources conducive to the teaching/learning processes following the guidelines established by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology and as delegated by the Associate Dean of Health Sciences. The Program Director participates in the preparation and management of the program's budget and provides leadership through the development and implementation of the program's curricula and fulfills duties as Clinical Coordinator, when required. Additionally, the Program Director assists in faculty development, recruitment, promotion and retention; maintains relationships with program specific regulatory and accreditation boards/agencies; and assists the Associate Dean of Health Sciences in providing an adequate number of qualified faculty.
Responsibilities
Provides leadership and administration in the program's effectiveness, including outcomes, organization, administration, continuous review, planning, and development of the AAS Radiography program.
Teaches and Designs Courses in the AAS Radiography program.
Performs the duties of a Clinical Coordinator
Performs other role-related responsibilities as required or directed.
FINANCIAL IMPACT AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
With faculty input, prepares and submits program budget to the Associate Dean, Health Science

Responsibilities
Provides leadership and administration in the program's effectiveness, including outcomes, organization, administration, continuous review, planning, and development of the AAS Radiography program.
- Coordinates all content and student learning experiences within the curriculum.
- Develops and maintains a master plan for all content and experiences in the curriculum.
- Supervises appropriate revisions in all course materials and experiences based on curricular changes and refinements and course evaluations.
- Monitors curricular effectiveness.
- Collaborates with the Associate Dean of Health Sciences, regarding curricular direction of the AAS Radiographyprogram.
- Collaborates with Associate Dean of Health Sciences and faculty in developing student and academic policies for the college.
- Utilizes objective data to assess the effectiveness of curriculum design.
- Ensures compliance with national and state accreditation standards and requirements affecting Radiography education.
- Assumes active role in accreditation activities.
- Guides faculty in developing course materials.
- Ensures regular meetings of the faculty course leads to facilitate communication and faculty participation in planning, implementing, and evaluating the curriculum.
Teaches and Designs Courses in the AAS Radiography program.
- Facilitates review and modification of course curriculum.
- Ensure program, module, and learning outcomes are mapped to ILO's.
- Teaches courses in Radiology program and meets required course units during the academic year.
Performs the duties of a Clinical Coordinator
- Select and approve appropriate clinical sites.
- Provide orientation for the on-site supervisors.
- Provide oversight of the clinical experience
- Ensure appropriate and sufficient evaluation of student achievement in the clinical experience.
- Conduct quarterly meetings with on-site supervisors/managers
Performs other role-related responsibilities as required or directed.
- Maintains current knowledge of the discipline and educational methodologies through continuing professional development
- Facilitates the selection of prospective candidates.
- Provides input to Associate Dean of Health Sciences during annual budget preparation and advocates for equity within and among other divisions of the college.
- Actively participates in shared governance.
- Actively implements a realistic mission-driven strategic plan for college growth.
- Actively participates in official ceremonies
- Participates in activities that enhance the College's effectiveness, such as community service and scholarly endeavors. etc.

Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS (e.g. BS required, MS preferred.):
EDUCATION:
- Holds, at a minimum, a master's degree;
- Holds and maintains current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification and registration, or equivalent in radiography.
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:
- Documents three years' clinical experience in the professional discipline;
- Documents two years' experience as an instructor in a JRCERT accredited program; community college teaching experience is preferred
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Proficient in curriculum design, evaluation, instruction, program administration, and academic advising;
- Effective management techniques; Administrative experience preferred.
- Current knowledge of regulatory guidelines related to radiography;
- Effective communication skills.
LICENSES REGISTRATIONS &/or CERTIFICATIONS: Yes
- Credentialed in good standing in radiology, by a national organization, American Registry of Radiological Technology (ARRT).
- Must hold a current Registered Technologist in Radiography RT(R) certification and registration in radiology;
