About the Job
The Nonprofit Center
Created in July 2023, the Nonprofit Center at 41 Community Place offers capacity-building support to local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations with the overall goal of advancing the health and well-being of Anne Arundel County residents. The program currently offers professional development, networking opportunities and resources to local nonprofits. The Center is growing and will later house nonprofit service providers, offer both co-working and meeting spaces, and serve as an incubator for smaller nonprofit organizations in a single, central location.
Position Description This position is appointed by the County Executive and reports to the Executive Director of the Nonprofit Center. The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for working with the Executive Director to coordinate and evaluate the Center’s services. This hybrid-position currently works remotely and at the Arundel Center in downtown Annapolis. Once the Nonprofit Center relocates to 41 Community Place, the onsite-work will be located in Crownsville.

The employee interacts with other departments/agencies, external organizations, and the general public daily. This work requires a wide range of knowledge encompassing both administrative processes of the County Government and the knowledge of the program areas that are the responsibility of the department/agency to which assigned.

Depending upon the position's location in the organization's structure, employees may have supervisory responsibilities. The impact of work performed by an incumbent in this class is realized throughout the department/agency to which assigned.
The work is primarily sedentary in nature and performed in an office environment, but may require physical set up of meeting spaces for the Center’s programming. Attendance may be required at meetings or events around the county outside of normal office hours.
