Core Responsibilities:
- Manage surveyors on staking, boundary, topographic, and drone survey projects.
- Lead the survey department in day-to-day operations, including management and coordination.
- Acquire and manage clients while overseeing project coordination.
- Prepare and process property documents such as lot line adjustments, parcel maps, final maps, condominium plans, boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys.
- Prepare plat maps, legal descriptions, and other essential project documents.
- Direct and supervise survey work and field crews.
- Sign contracts, maps, and related documents.
- Represent the organization by interacting with clients, contractors, officials, and other stakeholders at project meetings and public hearings for approvals.
- Mentor and guide less-experienced staff, sharing knowledge and skills to foster team growth.
Technical Responsibilities:
- Provide advisory support for broad program areas within the organization.
- Oversee both field and office standards, ensuring high-quality procedures are followed.
Key Skills/Competencies:
- Familiarity with 3D mapping techniques.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Experience leading a team and managing daily tasks and responsibilities of the Survey Department.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in land surveying.
- Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) License required.
- Experience with boundary, ALTA, topographic surveys, and construction staking.
- Experience with transportation-related property and plat work preferred.
- Strong understanding of the surveying process from start to finish.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred.
Salary & Benefits:
- Salary range: $95,000–$180,000/year (depending on experience)
