Job title: Production Supervisor
Salary: Starting at $77k to $94k a year, depending on experience.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 7am to 3pm
Location: Woodinville, Washington
The Production Supervisor manages the production workflow by assigning responsibilities and preparing multiple production schedules. They will guide and coach employees by monitoring their productivity and oversee the safe use of equipment. This includes maintaining a regular maintenance schedule. This person will perform verification of production output according to specifications for Opti-Frame, Precision End Trim, and all other production related functions within the facility. They will work closely with yard operations, dispatch, sales, and the Opti-Frame team to provide Legendary Service Through Teamwork.
Qualifications
- 2 years of previous experience in a similar job
- 1 year of leadership experience preferred
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- OSHA Certified Forklift License
- Must be able to operate personal computer, smartphone, scanner, and any other equipment necessary for the job
- Must be able to type 40+ WPM
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Must have reliable transportation
- Knowledge of and the ability to effectively utilize MiTek Sapphires, MiTek Management, and other applicable design programs
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain a fast-paced production schedule at the yard level
- Work with Opti-Frame Scheduling Coordinator and Lead Sawyer(s) to adjust the production schedule based on customer request, production capacity, and saw capacity
- Work closely with Operations Lead, Dispatch, Sales, and Yard Management to manage production workflow
- Redirect workflow based on various capacity levels and constraints
- Resource Allocation
- Manage resources such as materials, equipment, and manpower to optimize production
- Coordinate with purchasing and supply chain teams as directed to maintain inventory levels and take advantage of opportunistic buys
- Ensure that appropriate paperwork is completed as per company policy with a high degree of accuracy
- Produce, organize, and review daily/monthly production reports with location management
- Substitutions are being filled out properly to account for accurate inventory
- Ability to safely operate forklift and all equipment within the production shop
- Quality Control
- Implement quality control measures to ensure products meet specified standards
- Conduct regular inspections and quality checks during production processes
- Problem Solving
- Analyze production bottlenecks and challenges, and develop solutions
- Implement corrective actions to prevent recurring issues
- Leadership
- Lead by example, demonstrating a strong work ethic and commitment to the team's success
- Motivate and inspire team members to achieve production goals
- Retains responsibility over the production schedule at the yard level
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of building materials and construction codes by sharing product information with co-workers
- Assists location management and Lead Sawyer in training new sawyers on best practices and quality expectations through driving accountability
- Obtain daily unit counts of highly used commodity items in yard and works with purchasing and inventory specialist to keep stock levels appropriate
- Coordinates a workaround with yard management and scheduling coordinator in the event scheduled workload is not going to be completed by day's end
- Reviews saw run time data daily to serve as a tool for both management of and engagement with their respective Opti-Frame production
- Works with Lead Sawyer to determine appropriate waste levels
- Works with location management to determine warranted overtime
- Shares production forecast with the team daily
- Prepare reports on performance and progress
- Detect issues in efficiency and suggest improvements
This position works outside in the lumber yard in all weather conditions.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to grasp, talk, hear, and operate a computer and keyboard
- Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds and carry objects 50 feet
- Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Must be able to drive a vehicle when necessary
