Job Description
Directly supervises shop production employees. Effectively directs assigned personnel
and provides clear and accurate instructions in production work procedures to maintain a
high degree of efficiency and accuracy. Sets realistic and specific goals for employees to
meet production schedules, and motivates employees to their highest degree of
achievement. Supervises the proper maintenance and use of tools and equipment.
Ensures that the shop area is safe, clean and orderly.
Must be able to develop appropriate business strategies aligned to KRC's Management
Policy.
Manage position to make best use of employees; select employees and develop their
capabilities; plan for succession of key personnel; counsel employees effectively;
administer discipline; handle human resource matters in accordance with company
policy and procedures.
Establish work standards and schedules and ensure their effective implementation in the
department; assign work to employees and train employees in work procedures and
methods; review employees' work for adequacy and take steps to correct inadequate
performance; approve employees' work schedules and time reports.
Technical Knowledge: Demonstrates understanding and proper application of
mechanical and technical aspects of work procedures. This includes the review and
correct interpretation and application of all mechanical drawings (and/or electrical
schematics) and written work procedures for the scope of work.
Schedule: Effectively maintains production schedules and exercises good judgment in
planning and coordination of materials, manpower, and work procedures to meet
company goals and schedules. Verifies with employees that they clearly understand
and comply with the schedule of their work each day.
Communication: Works effectively with managers, supervisors, and employees to
facilitate clear communication among all departments. Communicates work progress to
Production Manager based on standard routings. Exercises daily discipline to complete
all reports promptly to facilitate communication.
Direction and Training: Provides clear and accurate instructions to staff. Trains
employees in work procedures, company processes, and the proper use and
maintenance of tools and equipment. Effectively coordinates the work efforts among
different work crews.
Discipline: Resolves personnel problems of employees under his/her supervision and
applies appropriate disciplinary measures effectively and fairly. Sets an example for all
employees by supporting company rules and regulations to promote employee self-
discipline. Demonstrates tact and sensitivity to employees and promotes positive
employee relations.
Materials: Ensures that required work materials are available in work area for assigned
crew prior to the start of each shift and on an ongoing basis. Maintains proper handling
of materials to minimize material damage, loss, and rejection.
Efficiency: Continually monitors work procedures and processes under his/her
leadership to realize maximum efficiency. Follows up on recommendations to improve
efficiency.
Safety: Ensures that employees follow all KRC safety rules and regulations. Enforces
Lockout/Tagout procedures.
Documentation: Completes production and related documentation with a high degree of
accuracy, timeliness, and attention to detail. Performs required SAP functions pertaining
to manpower and materials.
House keeping: Ensures that work areas, equipment and facilities meet company
standards by actively promoting good housekeeping.
Quality of Work: Maintains work efforts, self-check procedures and documentation to
ensure conformance to company standards regarding the acceptable quality level of
product.
Attitude: Sets a positive example by maintaining a positive attitude.

Job Specifications:
Must have at minimum one (1) to three (3) year's supervisory experience, preferably in a
manufacturing environment. Must have direct knowledge of mechanical and production
processes and the capability to trouble-shoot and resolve problems. Must have
excellent mechanical aptitude, organizational, supervisory, and communication skills.
Must know how to use hand and power tools. Must be able to read, write and speak
English. Must be proficient in understanding and interpreting drawings/blueprints. Must
be proficient in both English and Metric systems of measurement. Must have good
computer skills, be able to multi-task and have a good figure aptitude. Must be capable
of working in an active manufacturing environment, be able to climb stairs and ladders,
