Position Summary
The Production Manager will manage every aspect of their assigned events from the advance planning stages through the end of the event; serve as primary point of contact for the venue during show advances and during events; be responsible for and ensure overall customer and lessee satisfaction.
This role will pay a salary of $60,000 to $66,000 and is bonus eligible.

About the Venue
Total Mortgage Arena is a 10,000 seat sports and entertainment venue located in Bridgeport, Connecticut. The Arena is the home of the Bridgeport Islanders, proud AHL affiliate of the New York Islanders. Total Mortgage Arena hosts a wide range of events each year, including sporting events, family shows, concerts by world-famous musicians, and much more.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for coordinating/advancing with licensee, promoter representative, tour, or event representative all requirements and needs; act as liaison for building with all parties involved in the event
- Timely and accurately communicate with building staff all requirements necessary for events through the creation of data sheets and like documents
- Interact with Operations Department to ensure appropriate setup/strike of equipment for all events
- Interact with Guest Services Manager to ensure appropriate levels of Guest Services, Security, and Public Safety personnel are coordinated for all events
- Communicate show labor needs to IATSE representatives and ensure appropriate labor numbers following show advances
- Oversee all production, set up, and event-related contracted services for assigned events; secure any rentals needed to successfully produce assigned events
- Act as liaison between the venue and the third-party production provider; provide schedule of events for appropriate staffing of production personnel
- Lead the coordination of vendors as it relates to repairs/service of A/V, production, or technical equipment
- Responsible for all technical and production-related items for events, including but not limited to, internet/data needs, hockey operations equipment, etc.
- Assists with planning and execution of building maintenance, repair, and capital projects
- Ensure that all event insurance certificates, licenses and permits required for production are obtained in a timely manner
- Troubleshoot during event preparation and during event to ensure that all event setups are correct, including making decisions about policy and procedures
- Communicate with food and beverage provider for catering needs and event planning
- Present event previews/reviews in staff meetings
- Communicate any problems and proposed solutions to Assistant General Manager and General Manager
- Work a flexible schedule, including long nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Act as facility manager on duty as required
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum three to five (3-5) years of increasingly responsible experience in event management in an arena, convention center, stadium, or public assembly facility; internship experience will be considered in lieu of full-time experience
- Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, have strong organizational skills and demonstrated interpersonal skills
- Exemplary customer service skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
- Experience with budget preparation and control
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office programs; experience with AutoCAD preferred but not required
- Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule including long and irregular hours that may vary due to functions and may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended number of consecutive days
