PRODUCTION MANAGER – Food Ingredients
(First or Second shift available)
Dallas / Ft Wort , TX
Our client is a well-known, specialty Ingredient Manufacturer based in the Dallas/Ft Worth Texas area. This manufacturer is expanding and they sell ingredients to bakery, confectionery, dairy manufacturers and QSR’s across the US, Based on a recent retirement, they are looking to hire an experienced FOOD PRODUCTION MANAGER to oversee ALL production, maintenance and warehousing/inventory for either the 1st or 2nd shift. Reporting to the Plant General Manager, The Production Manager is the number two person in charge of the plant and will help manage the production in the Plant Managers absence. This is a second shift role starting at 12pm but could be a first shift role depending on the candidate.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintaining strict KPI compliance and reporting for responsible departments.
Reviewing daily production, maintenance, warehousing and project plans for effective utilization of resources.
Direct P&L responsibly for managed departments to include working closely with the GM on department budget preparations and having full involvement in P&L reviews.
Maintaining close operational control to ensure proper packaging and labeling of all products.
Working closely with direct report managers and other site managers to control product and plant waste ensuring necessary adjustments are made quickly.
Developing, designing and creating plans to improve production efficiencies.
Ensuring all departments complete work orders timely for quality and scheduling requirements.
Determining manning requirements based on volume and product mix. Evaluate current processes and methods through the use of time study, equipment layout, design and techniques. Determine most efficient means of improvement.
Ensuring strict inventory control processes and practices are adhered to.
Facilitating quality systems, continuous process improvement, and safety initiatives in accordance with Lean thinking throughout the organization
Continually monitoring responsible departments ensuring Quality and Sanitation policies and procedures are followed: HACCP, SQF, Allergens and GMP adherence.
Leading all aspects of company Safety processes for reporting departments including training and audits.
Ensuring OT is closely monitored by Department managers & supervisors.
Maintaining strict control of cost of goods by overseeing reports for accuracy and completeness.
Direct implementation of Continuous Improvement and 5S processes.
Reviewing variance reports daily ensuring swift actions are taken to address areas with opportunities for improvement.
Planning and Schedule each weeks production runs with subordinate teams
Performing root cause analysis, to identify and resolve downtime and / or inefficient operational issues.
Completes performance and talent reviews in a timely manner.
Responsibility for all site operations when the GM is out of the plant.
REQUIREMENTS
§ Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) or equivalent from a four year college
§ Minimum of 3 to 5 years of Food Manufacturing Management experience
§ Strong familiarity with HACCP compliance procedures and detailed product specifications
§ Must have experience dealing with FDA inspectors, regulations, policies and procedures
§ Strong knowledge of safe food handling, GMP’s, training and manufacturing techniques
§ Must have experience with SQF or BRC audits and requirements preferred
§ Strong communication and organization skills
§ Experience with continuous improvement and lean processes desirable
§ Able to work flexible hours
§ Prefer candidates that are Bilingual in Spanish and English
§ Proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
