In the role of Production Technician, the candidate will be responsible for office and field support of Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) projects including Optical Gas Imaging, surveys of a wide variety of oil and gas components using various types of leak detection equipment.
The CRC SJV Operations Team is seeking to fill a Production Technician, based out of our Coles Levee, CA office. The starting base wage for this posted position is reasonably expected to range from $33 - $54 per hour, with a target annual bonus opportunity of 10% of wages paid. Your actual level and base salary, however, will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience. Required Skills
- Conducting field inspections and LDAR tag creation, printing, and field installation on regulated components per facility P&ID's.
- Well operations and surveillance, well testing, operation, monitoring and maintenance of oilfield equipment, facilities and well safety shutdown systems
- Types of wells include flowing, beam pump, gas lift, ESP, PCP, hydraulic jet, plunger lift, water disposal, water injection, and gas injection
- Types of facilities include tank batteries, pipelines, FWKO’s, water plants, vapor recovery systems, metering facilities, LACT meters, etc.
- Oversight of general oilfield operations and maintenance of various databases regarding production and operations
- Understand and comply with all HES guidelines, policies, and procedures
- Trouble shoot problems on equipment and facilities, making minor equipment repairs when possible and notify supervisor when additional help is required
- Keep all work areas clean, free of weeds, trash and other debris (i.e. right of ways, sales points, electrical panels, walk paths, etc.
- Indirectly oversee and guide the activity of contractors including, but not limited to instrument technicians, roustabouts, mechanics, electricians, designers, engineering technicians, and other contract maintenance personnel
- Use computers to operate SCADA systems, participate in CBT/WBT education, check email, utilize CMMS (e-Maint), research solutions on the internet/intranet
- Respond to callouts and overtime as needed to perform the above
Required Experience
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be a team player, self-starting with good communication skills
- Goodcomputer skills and willingness to learn new software and automation applications
- Ability to read, speakand write English
- Ability to speak in front of groups, lead safety meetings
- Working knowledge of oilfield equipment operations and maintenance.
- Basic analytical skills to identify and troubleshoot facilities, production equipment and problems wells
- Basic mathematical skills and ability to keep neat and accurate records
- Must be able to safely climb, bend, stoop, and lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs
- Working knowledge of Elk Hills oil and gas production and operations and safe work practices
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and night shifts as needed
- Must have a valid driver's license and a clean DMV record
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience with field automation and well surveillance
- Prior experience in oilfield construction and maintenance
- 2 years of oilfield experience
