The Role
We are a residential home building technology company seeking skilled and motivated Production Associates to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will work alongside our experienced assemblers to assist in various metal frame, sheathing and fastening tasks within our manufacturing facility. Production Associates play a vital role in supporting the production of high-quality products and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. The ideal candidate is a jack of all trades who possesses a diverse skill set and is comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Responsibilities
- Work with a team assembling building components for residential construction in a fabrication environment.
- Assist in the assembly and installation of steel and composite components into structures.
- Prepare, handle, and move materials and tools, ensuring availability on the production line.
- Operate and maintain power tools such as drill drivers, drills, sanders, cutters, punch and equipment.
- Cut, shape, and trim materials according to specifications using manual or powered tools.
- Assist in measuring and marking material to ensure accurate and precise cuts and fit.
- Assist in the assembly and installation of finished materials and components into larger products or structures.
- Help maintain a clean and organized work area, including cleaning tools, disposing of waste materials, and organizing supplies.
- Follow safety guidelines and procedures, using personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and timelines.
- Learn and develop assembly skills through on-the-job training and mentorship from experienced leaders.
- Assist in identifying and troubleshooting issues with assembly projects and propose solutions.
Qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy materials and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality in assembly work.
- Basic math skills for measuring and calculating dimensions.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Commitment to safety and the ability to follow safety protocols.
- Meticulous attention to detail to follow precise plans
- Ability to use measuring tools to take accurate, precise measurements of materials to follow shop drawings
- Must be able to walk, sit, stand, reach, squat, kneel for and stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift a minimum of 60lbs.
- Written and verbal communications in English
- Trade school certification or vocational training in a relevant field.
- Experience with welding, fabrication, or machining.
- Experience with light gauge steel and framing
- Experience with composite materials in residential construction
- Previous experience as a construction helper or in a similar construction-related role is preferred.
Your Work Environment
- You will work in a factory environment on a production line with multiple workstations moving at a fast pace.
- You will experience a higher than average noisy environment but should not exceed 85 decibels. You will be required to use hearing protection when using power tools.
- You may experience some nuisance dust from cutting, grinding or sanding but most dust will be contained within vacuum systems.
- You may be required to wear a respirator or dust mask when cutting grinding or sanding materials.
- You may be required to wear personal protective equipment such as, safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves and or respiratory protection.
- You may be exposed to chemicals such as sealants, coatings, adhesives, cleaners etc. but you will be provided protection from any harmful chemicals.
- You will work around cranes and forklifts, flashing lights and buzzers are common.
- You may work around well-guarded automated machines and robots.
- You will work around CNC machines, 3D printers and surfacing equipment.
Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with the final offer amount dependent on skills, education, experience, and location is $28.00 - $30.00 hourly for Hayward, CA, and surrounding areas.
