Position Overview:
The Procurement Market Analyst is a strategic role focused on sourcing, analyzing, and optimizing procurement operations within the food industry. This high-level analyst will evaluate market trends, manage supplier relationships, and ensure cost-efficient procurement strategies that align with the company’s operational and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Market Analysis: Monitor and analyze market trends, pricing, and supply chain dynamics to inform procurement strategies.
- Vendor Management: Build and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.
- Sourcing: Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers for raw materials and services critical to the food production process.
- Cost Management: Develop cost-saving strategies while maintaining quality and compliance with industry standards.
- Reporting: Generate detailed procurement and market analysis reports for senior management to guide decision-making.
- Compliance: Ensure procurement practices meet all food safety and regulatory requirements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and logistics.
- Shipping Coordination: Communicate and coordinate with shipping departments to track materials from vendors and ensure timely deliveries to all locations.
- Inventory Management: Conduct weekly and monthly inventory cycle counts with shipping teams to establish and maintain minimum and maximum inventory levels.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in procurement or purchasing within the food industry (required).
- Skills:
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
