The Permanent Procurement Category Manager is a critical role within our organization. This position will play a key role in managing the procurement activities for the manufacturing sector, focusing on gift boxes, labels, dry goods, and the wine industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, tracking performance, and ensuring cost-effective procurement. This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement professional to leverage their skills and contribute to our company's success.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and execute sourcing strategies for assigned categories, ensuring alignment with overall business strategy.
2. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts and prices to ensure best value for the company.
3. Monitor and track supplier performance, implementing improvement plans as necessary.
4. Manage the procurement of gift boxes, labels, dry goods, and other materials related to the wine industry.
5. Work closely with production and demand planning teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and manage inventory levels.
6. Continually identify and implement cost reduction opportunities, driving efficiencies and savings across the procurement function.
7. Stay up-to-date with market trends, competitor strategies, and industry innovations, using this knowledge to inform procurement decisions.
8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure procurement activities align with company objectives and customer needs.
Qualifications:
1. Minimum of 5 years of procurement experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
2. CAPS (Certified Professional in Supply Management) and ISM (Institute for Supply Management) certifications are required.
3. Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is preferred.
4. Proven experience in supplier relationship management and performance tracking.
5. Strong skills in cost management and contract/price negotiation.
6. Experience in sourcing strategy execution.
7. Knowledge of gift boxes, labels, dry goods, and the wine industry is highly desirable.
8. Familiarity with vendors, production planning, demand planning, and cost reduction strategies.
9. Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
10. Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
11. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field is preferred.
