This role will work as a member of a large multi-functional (hardware, software, electrical, mechanical) team in the software design and development of embedded software for Neuromodulation Products reflecting high professional standards.
This role is responsible for ensuring that embedded software used in the development, manufacturing and as part of medical devices is developed according to good design practices and follows the corresponding requirements set forth by local procedures, regulatory authorities and notified bodies.
This role will provide the technical leadership, deep subject matter expertise, technical/project oversight and team member training/coaching.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Technical leadership in software design and development of large scope and complex software projects Technical leadership in identifying and implementing the best-in-class systems software development processes, methods, tools, and standards. Technical leadership with cross-functional and software teams to identify user needs and develop product requirements, system requirements/specifications, software requirements/specifications, software architecture/design specifications and implementation Mentor software developers and provides technical guidance as necessary. Works with senior leadership/management, cross-functional key stakeholders, and software team to deliver the top-quality software designs and work products on time Works with senior leadership/management, cross-functional key stakeholders, and software team to develop and maintain the software group’s technology roadmap DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC/NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Work with and provide technical leadership to other development engineers, lab technicians, and test engineers. Ensure adherence to product specifications, industry standards, and quality and regulatory procedures and requirements. Create innovative technical solutions which lead to the development and introduction of new technologies, products, and processes that support ongoing business objectives. REQUIREMENTS Bachelors degree in Engineering and 7+ years of experience Or Advance Degree with 5 + years of experienceSKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS Expert working knowledge of C/C++. Embedded system software design and development. Extensive experience with software development for embedded systemsAbility to learn and apply new technology in areas of responsibility.Highly knowledgeable of low-level debugging Highly knowledgeable and demonstrated experience in software engineering processes and product life cycles.
