Summary
As a Principal IT Engineer (Citrix Platform) you will be part of the IT team that manages the Citrix platform for the Cloud Software Group enterprise. We are “Customer #1” for Citrix products and you will be a technical leader whose outputs will have a broad impact and high visibility across all levels of the business. You will be successful in this role if you are already a recognized subject matter expert who has experience with implementing Citrix technologies in medium and large enterprises, and you are skilled in assessing business requirements, designing and implementing solutions, providing guidance on best practices and supporting and enabling end-users to access applications and desktops seamlessly and securely across the enterprise.
Role Responsibilities
Design and implement optimized solutions for Citrix Workspace, DaaS, Enterprise Browser and Secure Private Access, ensuring that our services meet the high expectations of leveraging Citrix products internally at Cloud Software Group
Engage with our internal customers to understand requirements and design solutions to meet the demand
Provide operational and business as usual (BAU) support for a variety of services
Proactively monitor system health, performance, and capacity, identifying and resolving potential issues.
Perform regular maintenance tasks, including patching, upgrades, and backups.
Troubleshoot complex Citrix-related issues escalated from support teams.
Mentor junior engineers and support staff, providing technical leadership
Work closely with the security and infrastructure teams to ensure that Citrix solutions are both secure and efficiently integrated within the larger IT environment.
Take point as the technical leader during outages or major incidents.
Prepare LLD, HLD and migration/transition documentation and architectural methodology.
Work with the business stakeholders at all levels (including executives and Product Managers) to drive adoption and champion our Citrix solutions.
Required Experience / Skills
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Equivalent experience will also be considered
Minimum 10 years in the IT industry, with at least 5 years as a solution architect or principal engineer for Citrix technologies
Strong in-depth experience of Citrix Virtual App & Desktop deliveries including related technologies (Provisioning Services, Machine Creation Services, Workspace Environment Manager, Citrix Profile Manager, etc.)
Knowledge of application delivery methods and packaging including Citrix App Layering or similar
Experienced implementing CVAD solutions in the Cloud (Azure virtual desktops, Citrix Cloud).
Strong Windows Server and Desktop OS skills in relation to CVAD deployments, image builds, hardening, etc. Ideally including experience with Windows 11 Multisession
Knowledgeable on hardware sizing on compute, storage and network for CVAD solutions
Strong Active Directory skills including Group Policy Management, AGPM, DNS, DHCP
Experience in automation and orchestration using PowerShell
Knowledge and experience with Compute, Network, Storage technologies, data center and cloud operations
Ability to work independently and in a strong team environment, and to deliver on detail as well as strategy
Strong oral and written communications skills, as well as presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
Strong knowledge with Identity management and all security aspects in the VDI world.
Knowledgeable on DevOps and CI/CD pipeline design concepts and implementation.
Experience in implementing server/storage solutions in support of virtualized platforms.
Working knowledge of high availability and business continuity from a technology and business process perspective.
One or more of the following certifications:
Citrix Certified Expert Virtualization (CCE-V), Citrix Certified Professional – Virtualization
Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops Service on Citrix Cloud Certified (CC-VAD-CC),
Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops Service Integration with Microsoft Azure Certified (CC-VAD-MA)
Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator, or Azure Solutions Architect
Compensation may vary depending on your location, qualifications including job-related education, training, experience, licensure, and certification, that could result at a level outside of these ranges. Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including annual bonus, and sales incentives depending on the terms of the applicable plan and role as well as individual performance. NYC generally ranges; $164,015-$205,019 CA generally ranges; $171,146-$213,932 All other locations fall under our General State range; $142,622-$178,277 Benefits may vary depending on the nature of your employment with Cloud Software Group and the country where you work.
