Job Details
Seeking a Permanent Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects and technologies that are shaping the future of energy. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the mechanical design, equipment, cost estimates, and maintenance. This role requires a highly motivated and experienced individual who can work effectively in a fast-paced, high energy environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems for our energy projects.
2. Conduct detailed mechanical design work including 3D modelling, simulations, calculations, and preparation of engineering drawings.
3. Develop cost estimates for mechanical equipment and systems, including preparation of material take-offs and labor estimates.
4. Oversee the procurement, installation, and maintenance of mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance.
5. Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for mechanical systems.
6. Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and project teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.
7. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
8. Ensure all mechanical engineering activities comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
9. Participate in project meetings and reviews, presenting mechanical design proposals and updates.
10. Continually monitor industry trends and advancements in mechanical engineering and energy technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A Master’s Degree is preferred.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Principal Mechanical Engineer in the energy industry.
3. Professional Engineer (PE) certification is required.
4. Extensive experience in mechanical design, including proficiency in 3D modelling and simulation software.
5. Experience in developing cost estimates for mechanical systems and equipment.
6. Solid understanding of mechanical equipment maintenance and the development of preventative maintenance programs.
7. Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
8. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
9. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex technical information.
10. A commitment to health, safety, and environmental compliance in all engineering activities.
11. A passion for innovation and staying abreast of the latest advancements in mechanical engineering and energy technologies.
