Job Summary
Provide technical support in the Engineering Services department for the Salem Power Uprate Project. Thesuccessful candidate will perform the duties as a Lead Responsible Engineer (LRE) for modifications needed to support the power uprate for Salem Units 1 and 2. An LRE is responsible for determining solutions, and then managing resources needed to prepare the applicable design deliverables.
Job Responsibilities
Some specific Lead Responsible Engineer (LRE) duties would include:
Provide technical support in the Engineering Services department for the Salem Power Uprate Project. Thesuccessful candidate will perform the duties as a Lead Responsible Engineer (LRE) for modifications needed to support the power uprate for Salem Units 1 and 2. An LRE is responsible for determining solutions, and then managing resources needed to prepare the applicable design deliverables.
Job Responsibilities
Some specific Lead Responsible Engineer (LRE) duties would include:
- Qualify for and fulfill the LRE role for the power uprate plant modifications and be accountable for the design "cradle to grave".
- Establish modification scope, system performance requirements, and all testing requirements.
- Perform Owners Acceptance Reviews for design analysis, modification packages, procurement, and specifications in accordance with plant procedures.
- Manage technical supplier teams with respect cost, schedule, and quality.
- Schedule and coordinate Engineering and station department resources to deliver and install required design change packages.
- Interface with Project Manager to ensure that Engineering deliverables meet the overall project goals.
- Provide field support during modification walkdowns, installation, testing and as-built verification.
- Comply with regulatory requirements including 50.59, License Amendment Request preparation and any required supporting analysis.
- Perform other assigned duties as determined by the Engineering Manager.
- Assigned duties in the Emergency Response Organization.
- Must possess a valid US driver's license and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
- Availability for shift work during installation.
- Must meet Nuclear requirements for unescorted plant access.
Job Specific Qualifications
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a BS Degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Controls Engineering OR a technical degree with 13+ years of experience performing Engineering work in a nuclear power plant or power generation facility
- Must possess a minimum of 7+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Power uprate experience at a pressurized water reactor (PWR)
- Prior Design Engineering configuration control qualification
- Professional Engineering license (NJ or other state)
