Summary:
As a C-Store Pricebook Manager, you will lead the pricing strategy and execution within a convenience store environment, focusing on pricebook management to drive profitability and competitiveness. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments to align pricing with strategic business goals. You will oversee the pricebook system, ensuring precise, competitive pricing for all merchandise and promotional items, while maintaining compliance with industry regulations.
Responsibilities:
Pricebook Management:
- Maintain and update the pricebook system consistently to ensure accuracy across all product lines.
- Verify that prices for merchandise, promotions, and seasonal items are current and competitive.
- Regularly monitor industry trends and competitor pricing to optimize market positioning.
- Oversee promotional pricing updates and manage pricing exceptions for specific stores or regions, ensuring alignment with overall strategy.
Analysis and Reporting:
- Conduct in-depth pricing analyses to identify margin improvement opportunities.
- Prepare and distribute reports on sales performance, pricing trends, and profitability.
- Utilize data insights to make recommendations for pricing adjustments aligned with business objectives.
- Analyze inventory turnover rates in relation to pricing strategies to prevent overstock or stock shortages.
Collaboration:
- Partner with the purchasing department to understand cost changes and negotiate favorable terms with suppliers.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to align pricing strategies with promotional and seasonal campaigns.
- Effectively communicate pricing changes to store managers and relevant organizational stakeholders.
- Coordinate with the IT team to troubleshoot any technical issues with the pricebook software and ensure systems are up to date.
Compliance:
- Ensure all pricing complies with local, state, and federal regulations regarding pricing and taxation.
- Stay updated on any regulatory changes affecting pricing, adjusting strategies and processes as needed.
- Monitor compliance with pricing audits and resolve any discrepancies to maintain accurate pricing records.
Training and Development:
- Train and support store staff in understanding and implementing pricing policies and procedures.
- Provide ongoing guidance to ensure consistent application of pricing strategies across all locations.
- Develop training materials and update procedural guides to reflect changes in pricing systems or policies.
Inventory & Vendor Relations:
- Work with suppliers to manage promotional and bulk purchase pricing, identifying opportunities for cost savings.
- Assist in maintaining inventory control through effective pricing strategies, helping minimize shrinkage and optimizing inventory turnover.
- Participate in vendor negotiations to align pricing strategies with favorable purchasing terms and product assortments.

- Work will be performed both inside and outside on a regular basis, in most weather conditions.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts are required as a normal part of this position.
- Occasional local day travel, Local travel to managed businesses.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and walk extended period. The employee occasionally is required to bend, climb, stoop, lift, carry, push, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move 15 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Two (2) years' experience in retail pricing or related roles within the convenience/retail industry.
- Valid AZ driver's license, provide a 39-month satisfactory MVR report.
- Obtain a Tribal operator driving permit at the time of hire.
- A satisfactory result obtained through a test for illegal drugs.
- Acknowledge and agree to maintain a drug-free workplace.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance or related field.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and pricebook management software.
- Knowledge and experience working with Gila River Indian Community or other Native American Communities.
- Proficient in MS office and other relevant workplace tools.
