Press helper job details:
The position of Printing Press Associate is to assist in the preparation, setup, clean up, and other activities to maximize uptime of a printing press
• Working with Press Operators and Supervisors to accomplish any additional duties as directed, to aid in the operations of the manufacturing area
• Prepares next order for press, assuring that all required materials & tooling are accurate
• Cleans press with Press Operator and makes sure all duties are complete before moving onto another area
• Assists Press Operator during make-readies and during roll changes
• Maintains inventory supply levels at presses, checks shift start and shift end to assure that all needed supplies are readily available and stored properly following 5S guidelines
• Cleans press area as needed to assure areas are neat and orderly
• Additional duties as directed by the Press Assistant or Press Operator
• Assists in other press groups or support areas as directed
• Works ethically and with integrity to uphold organizational values
• This employee follows policies and procedures and should be able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events
• This employee is expected to be at work and on time, managing time to assure maximum support to the process
• Observes safety and security procedures;
• Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee works near moving mechanical parts; and is exposed to non-hazardous ink vapors
• Safety shoes are required in this position
• Safety glasses are required when pouring inks or using cleaners
• The noise level in the work environment is usually loud, but below OSHA-defined decibels requiring hearing protection
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle orders, and pressroom equipment and tools, or controls
• Reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, talk and hear, and lift approximately 35-50 lbs
