Salary range: $25 - $28 per hour; commensurate with experience

Children's Choice is a well-established Preschool with locations throughout San Diego County. We are looking for an experienced and caring Preschool Lead Mentor Teacher to oversee the classroom curriculum program following company guidelines and supporting its core values.
The ideal candidate is passionate, patient, has excellent communication skills and is comfortable interacting with parents by addressing any of their concerns. Reports to the Center Director or the Assistant Director in her absence.
Responsibilities:
- Early Childhood Educator: instruct preschool-aged children by following company selected curriculum (Zoo-phonics; training will be provided)
- Create weekly lesson plans that correlate with themes.
- Act as a mentor to new hires, assistant teachers and aides by modeling, coaching, instructing, collaborating, encouraging, and providing guidance and support.
- Designate time to meet with new teachers, shows them the school, and explains policies and procedures.
- Meet with Curriculum Director and/or Teacher Advocate monthly for training/staff development.
- Keep the classroom clean, neat, and structured following company policies and standards of care; classroom materials are organized and labeled.
- Conform with all licensing rules, company policies & procedures and values, consult with the Director when unsure.
- Ensure children are always supervised in all spaces both inside and outside.
- Learn software applications and use it according to company standards.
- Attend (1-3) monthly trainings/staff meetings after hours.
- Arrive on time, consistent attendance is a must.
- Communicate with parents on a regular basis on the child's progress and addresses any concerns professionally and with empathy.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with students and parents.
- DRDP Evaluations
Qualifications:
- At least 12 Early Childhood Education units. Must include a) Early Child Development, b) Child, Family & Community, c) Child Health & Safety, and any other CD class, e.g. Infant & Toddler Development (preferred), Program & Curriculum, etc.
- At least 2-5 years' experience as a preschool teacher in a center-based program.
- Experience with Title 5 preferred
- Experience with DRDP a plus

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Able to work occasional overtime if needed and attend scheduled staff meetings after hours.
- Possibility of class pets. During the year, we have different animals on site.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds; able to sit on the floor and/or stand for extended periods of time.
