Story Tavern is a family owned and operated pub in Downtown Burbank that serves home-made gluten free comfort food. We offer a variety of food options like burgers, sandwiches, fried foods, mac and cheeses and much more. Our staff is friendly, knowledgeable and highly team oriented. POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for cooking, prepping, and providing for the dietary and nutritional needs of our clients.
DIRECT SUPERVISOR: Manager/Owner
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 18+ years of age
- Minimum one year of BOH work experience in one or all: prep, line, lead, expo, grill, fry
- Possess a valid food handler’s certification
- US citizen with valid driver’s license or social security card.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists culinary team with food ordering and inventory control.
- Prepares cooking ingredients by washing and chopping and maintains a prep schedule according to daily and weekly schedules.
- Makes breakfast, lunch and snacks for clients with dietary restrictions.

- Inspects supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure compliance with established standards.
- Proper food handling, including sanitation of all surfaces and cooking and serving utensils.
- Maintains sanitary conditions for kitchen and dining areas.
- Conducts periodic review of kitchen equipment as outlined by applicable state and local agencies and regulations and keeps licenses, certifications, inspections current.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Must be able to order, inspect and receive supplies
- Must possess the skills to conduct, maintain and record inventory
- Must have knowledge of applicable national, state and local health and food preparation standards and regulations and be able to maintain the facility in compliance with regulations
- Ability to accept direction and adhere to policies and procedures
- Must be a team member
- Must possess basic communication skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Primarily works inside. Must possess physical condition adequate for performance of the work.
LOCATION: Downtown Burbank, CA (Free parking behind building)

Job Type: Part-time or Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour

- $250 Sign-on paid after 90 days of employment
- BonusPaid time off
Weekly day range:
- Wednesday to Friday 5-10 PM
- Saturday & Sunday Noon-10 PM
License/Certification:
- Food Handler Certification (Preferred)
- US citizen
- Valid driver's license or social security card.
