La Bonne Vie is seeking an enthusiastic and hardworking Prep Cook to join our culinary team. As a Kitchen Prep Worker, you will support our chefs and cooks by preparing ingredients and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen. Your role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen and the timely delivery of high-quality dishes to our guests.
Responsibilities:
- Ingredient Preparation: Wash, peel, chop, and slice ingredients as required for menu items.
- Stock Management: Assist in receiving deliveries, checking orders, and properly storing ingredients.
- Kitchen Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, utensils, and equipment.
- Organization: Keep prep areas organized and stocked, ensuring all necessary supplies are readily available.
- Equipment Handling: Operate kitchen equipment safely and responsibly.
- Assistance: Provide support to cooks and chefs as needed during service.
- Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and storage procedures.
- Waste Management: Dispose of garbage and recycle materials appropriately.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in a kitchen environment is a plus but not required.
- Knowledge: Basic understanding of food preparation and kitchen operations.
- Skills: Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and handle physical tasks such as lifting heavy items.
- Attention to Detail: Ensure ingredients are prepared accurately and kitchen areas are kept clean.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with kitchen staff.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
