At GardaWorld, we know your compensation is important so we provide competitive hourly starting rates for every market we’re in. We're growing our team here in Downtown Portland, OR:
Compensation: $33 / hour
Shift: Friday - Tuesday 2 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. (40 hours full time)

About the job:
- You have previous military, law enforcement, or armed guard experience. You are able to lead and assign day-to-day responsibilities to the team.
- You are an amazing multi-task. With experience in duties such as scheduling, performance reports, continuing in-service training, crew and program evaluation, and disciplinary action.
- You can be uniformed and radio-equipped to communicate and allow contact with the Portland Police Bureau Clean & Safe Officers through the District communications center.
- You will also have access to a vehicle to facilitate quick response times for calls for service
- You are comfortable with providing armed visual security services to ensure a safe environment.
- You are willing to attempt to stop criminal conduct and street disorder
- You will work closely with Portland Police Bureau to report criminal activities and understand avoiding participation in arrests or criminal investigations except in an emergency; or when specifically requested or directed by Portland Police Bureau officers to assist.
- You are a fast thinker and quickly engage in problem-solving at the request of the Portland Police Bureau and community policing strategies.
- You understand the importance of maintaining a daily log and filing incident reports.
- You know that your radio is your best form of communication to Shift Supervisors, Portland Police Bureau officers, and other public agencies as required.
- You will abide by Oregon State law and Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (“DPSST”) certification standards.
- You will commit to further training beyond DPSST certification standards, specifically in de-escalation techniques, mental health crisis response, trauma-informed care interventions, and social service safety net referrals if requested.
Your background:
- You have a high school education or equivalent (GED)
- You’re able to ace (and pass) an extensive screening process
- You must have an extensive background in Military, or Law Enforcement experience, or a Bachelors in Criminal Justice, Political Science, or Security Administration
- You have an Armed Security License
- You have a valid state driver's license
- You have a clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Report)
- Must be at least 21 years or older
