SALARY: $15.00/hr plus tips
(Average range tips Per Hour: $30.00 - $38.00)
($15 .00/hr during initial training)
Shift Differential:
Monday-Thursday (6pm to 6am) + $1.00 per hour worked
Friday 4pm to Saturday 4am + $3.00 per hour worked
Saturday (4am to 4pm) + $2.00 per hour worked
Saturday (4pm to 4am) + $3.00 per hour worked
Sunday 4am to Monday 6am + $2.00 per hour worked
POSITION SUMMARY:
Deal various Poker games to customers on assigned shift. Continuation of this position is contingent upon funding allocations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide excellent customer service for all internal and external customers of the Poker Room operations at all times and in all activities. Promote the Poker Room to all patrons. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all internal and external customers of the Oneida Casino. Provide solutions for customer concerns and continually focus on customer service as the top priority.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements in all areas at all times. Adhere to established quality, service delivery, customer service, and customer demand expectations. Adhere to all audit, and legal regulations/laws and practices.
- Conduct the dealing of poker games in accordance with company policy, procedures, and regulations; handle player transactions; ensure a positive poker experience for all guests.
- Inform Pit Manager of any irregularities, disputes, arguments and relevant facts regarding specific players and their actions.
- Deal thirty (30) hands per hour.
- Meet strict start times and adhere to a strict dress code.
- Provide a friendly, fun, harmonious atmosphere for guests.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of Poker and have the ability to control games.
- Comply with department, casino, gaming regulatory policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Ensure game protection and game pace for all guests and ensure payouts are made quickly and accurately.
- Deal live Poker games, reads winning hand, awards pot.
- Begin dealer rotation in complete uniform and good personal hygiene.
- Safeguard company assets.
- Keep work area clean and orderly at all times.
- Contribute to a team effort and accomplish related results as required.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of public relations and customer service.
- Knowledge and understanding of various card and poker games.
- Skill in accurately recording numbers and payouts.
- Knowledge in dealing Seven Card Stud, Texas Hold’em, Omaha, and other poker games.
- Ability to demonstrate outstanding guest service at all times.
- Ability to apply basic mathematical skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co-workers at all levels.
- Ability to represent the organization in a professional manner, building respect and confidence.
- Ability to communicate effectively in the English language, both verbally and in writing with staff and the general public.
- Must adhere to strict confidentiality in all matters and sign a confidentiality statement prior to employment.
- Must be willing and able to obtain additional education and training.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening. Must adhere to the Tribe=s Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace Policy during the course of employment.
- Must pass a background security check with the Oneida Nation in order to meet the Employment Eligibility Requirements, Tribal/State Compact and/or Oneida Nation Gaming Ordinance as they pertain to the position. A temporary license or Gaming License issued by the Oneida Gaming Commission is required as a condition of employment and continuing employment within the Oneida Nation’s Gaming Division.
- Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
- High School Diploma, HSED Diploma or GED Certification is required. Applicants age fifty (50) and older are exempt from this requirement.
- One (1) year of poker dealing experience.(Must pass an audition demonstrating proficiency in poker dealing.)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Frequently stand for extended periods, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear.
- Occasionally walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds. Employee must be able to spend a significant amount of time twisting and turning with upper extremities extended across gaming table.
- Evening, holiday and/or weekend work may be required. Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.
- Work environment is NOT smoke, noise, or dust-free.
- A Tuberculosis (TB) Screening and/or a 2 step TB Skin Test is required within thirty (30) days of employment.
