HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE:
- Provides technical oversight for Point of Care Testing performed throughout the Medical Group to meet/exceed accreditation standards. Works with clinic teams to ensure Point of Care Testing is running efficiently and effectively.
- Assists in the total quality management of the POCT program including onboarding, annual training, testing, financial performance, and quality review. Establishes auditing methodology and reports.
- Establishes and maintains framework to catalogue and update all POCT CLIA licenses, renewals, new licenses, termination of licenses no longer needed for medical group.
- Writes and maintains Medical Group POCT policies and procedures.
- Reviews quality control for problem identification and troubleshooting. Uses quality control statistics and control procedures such as comparison between methods and results from proficiency testing to identify and or correct performance problems connected to equipment or teams.
- Responsible for staying current with new technologies and methodologies. Makes recommendations to Medical Group CNO and COO for new opportunities. Develops and oversees validation/verification studies for approved new instruments, methods and tests. Deploys and supports implementation of approved new instruments and tests.
- Maintains menu of approved Medical Group POCT delineated by waived and PPM groupings. Manages governance of testing menu on behalf of Medical Group. Works to move Medical Group to standardized core group of analyzers and test kits to support test menu.
- Provides support for point of care related information systems, consistent workflows and EHR documentation including implementation and validation of new middleware/software/test systems/firmware.
- Assists with the purchasing functions and inventory management (interact with purchasing and clinical engineering, write specifications, call companies, research and evaluate products).
- Works in close collaboration with physician partners as well as operational and clinical leaders across the Medical Group This position does not have direct reports and works through collaboration and influence. Establishes and leads clinical committee structures in addition to creating effective working relationships across the medical group.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
License/Registration/Certification Required: ? Certification (Medical Laboratory Scientist, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Technologist in Blood Bank, Molecular Biology) issued by the Board of American Society of Clinical Pathologists.
Education Required: ? Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS)
Experience Required: Typically requires Five years’ experience in a clinical laboratory with emphasis on skills related to work area
